Fussy natural deodorant review

Some of you will already know that at the start of lockdown I made the decision to transition to natural deodorant and the process wasn’t quite what I’d expected, though I did eventually adapt to it.

Having already switched to natural deodorant then, I was keen to give Fussy a try. The other brand I’ve been using for the past couple of years seems to have become less impactful for me over time and I now have to reapply on warm or particularly active days.

The Lowdown on Fussy

Always a sucker for bright colours, I chose a lilac Fussy deodorant case whilst Mark went for orange. There are lots of lovely bright (and not so bright) colours to choose from, as well as some limited edition colours available from time to time.

One of the main reasons I switched to natural deodorant was I liked the less plastic waste ethos and Fussy provides a refillable case to be used with their plastic-free compostable refills.

In fact, the case is designed to keep for life, saving the planet from over 250 single-use plastic deodorants over its lifetime.

Another big bonus is that the natural scents are gorgeous and all Vegan-friendly with no aluminium or parabens to clog up those pores.

With a claim of being 100% effective and able to keep BO at bay all day, I was keen to see if the claims lived up.

Does it Work?

Despite the formula being backed by science and containing a natural probiotic that eats sweat, the proof is always in the real-life use.

Although I work from home, I’m out at the gym 3 nights a week, I do at least 1 open water swim each week and I’m usually walking into town on weekdays and either camping or walking in the countryside at the weekend.

Add the heat of summer to my general moderate activity levels and the fact that perimenopause has definitely impacted the pong from my pits, I felt well-placed to put Fussy through its paces.

Does it work? Yes. Not only that it’s actually better than my previous brand of choice. The real proof however when it comes to gifted products is whether I then go on to become a paying customer and I have.

The refills are delivered quickly and they are super easy to use too, taking seconds to swap. The case is really easy to clean and is standing up to the knocks and scrapes from living part of its life inside gym bag well.

There are loads of different scents to choose from, including Lime, Basil & Mandarin and Cotton, Sandalwood & Vetiver which is my current favourite whilst my husband’s fave scent is Cedar, Cinnamon & Patchouli.

My husband who’s also been trying out his very own Fussy, is a fan too, so if you’re considering switching or giving natural deodorant a try, we’d both recommend that you give Fussy a try!
