Camping New Forest’s beloved campsites are opening earlier than expected, giving outdoor adventurers a jump-start on spring. From upgraded site facilities and exclusive bell tents to a brand-new community camping experience, Camping New Forest is rolling out exciting new ways to enjoy the great outdoors this year.

As of now, guests can return to the New Forest to enjoy a stay at Ashurst, Roundhill, Hollands Wood, Ocknell, Holmsley, and the adults-only campsite Longbeech, where grass pitches are now open for tents, caravans, and campervans.
“We’re thrilled to welcome guests back earlier than expected this year” said Denis Dooley, Chief Executive of Camping New Forest. “From the £150,000 refurbishment at Holmsley to upgraded facilities, brand new bell tents, and the launch of our community camping experiences, this season marks a new chapter for Camping New Forest. Whether guests are returning regulars or first-time visitors, they’ll find even more ways to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories in the heart of the New Forest.”
For the past two years, Camping New Forest has proudly operated ten Forestry England campsites throughout the New Forest, providing families, couples, and solo travellers with an authentic outdoor experience. With prices starting from just £26.80, it’s an affordable and memorable way to enjoy a holiday in the stunning natural beauty of the New Forest National Park.

What’s new for 2025?
Introducing the Camping Community Experience
New for 2025, Camping New Forest is launching a Camping Community – a packaged experience designed to bring like-minded campers together. Guests will benefit from reduced pitch fees, discounted entry to local attractions, and exclusive experiences, fostering a sense of community among outdoor enthusiasts.
The first Camping Community event will be held at Roundhill Campsite from 12th to 16th May. This exclusive four-night package includes a guided walk, visits to Exbury Gardens, a scenic Beaulieu River cruise, and access to the famous Beaulieu Motor Museum – all at guests’ own leisure. Spaces are filling quickly, and future dates will be announced soon.
Exciting Refurbishments at Holmsley Campsite
Holmsley Campsite, set on the historic grounds of a former WWII airfield, remains one of the most popular holiday destinations in the New Forest. As part of Camping New Forest’s wider £1.1 million investment across its campsites, Holmsley has benefited from a £150,000 refurbishment. This includes a full renovation of the on-site shop and takeaway area, as well as the addition of a brand-new children’s play area.

“Our goal was to improve the visitor experience while maintaining the historical importance of Holmsley,” said Ryk Becker Head of Operations at Camping New Forest. “The upgraded shop now provides an improved range of essentials, a cosy spot to enjoy a coffee and the new play area ensures that families with children can make the most of their visit. We’re excited to welcome guests back to see these
improvements firsthand.”
Luxury Camping – Bell Tents Now Available
For those who love nature but appreciate a little extra comfort, 18 new bell tents have been introduced across five campsite locations in the New Forest. These pre-pitched, furnished bell tents offer a comfortable camping experience, providing an upgraded stay while keeping the spirit of traditional camping. Guests will need to bring their own bedding, but the setup ensures a cosy and convenient way to enjoy the great outdoors.

New Concession Discount for Visitors 60+
In response to valuable feedback from our guests, we are pleased to introduce a new concession discount for visitors aged 60 and above. This initiative is designed to make it even easier for senior campers to enjoy a peaceful and affordable getaway in the heart of the New Forest.
Respecting the New Forest Environment
To protect the New Forest’s unique ecosystem, Camping New Forest encourages all visitors to follow the New Forest Code – respecting free-roaming wildlife and preserving this treasured landscape for future generations. We are working on new measures to protect the environment and will be announcing them very soon.
