Our visit

Referring to Tad cabin as glamping accommodation feels as though I’m doing it a huge disservice. It’s really a fully-fledged self-catering wood cabin with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.

Most glamping pods and cabins suffer from a lack of space, insufficient storage and when they do contain an ensuite and kitchen, there are often compromises due to so much being squeezed into such a small space. Not so at Tad@Cwtch which is spacious and exceptionally well equipped and comfortable.

It’s always the little touches and attention to detail that makes such a difference to the accommodation I stay in during a weekend break, whether it’s a basic camping pod or a luxury cottage and at Tad@Cwtch, there’s not only thoughtful touches throughout the cabin, but there’s a special grounding vibe here too.

Out of the many options I looked at when looking for somewhere to stay, Cwtch@Haford called to me the loudest, and I’m so pleased I followed my Intuition and made the booking.

Anglesey is always somewhere full of wonder and ancient energy and a place I return to when I feel I need to truly reset. Living in Cheshire, it takes just 2 hours to get to Cwtch@Hafod on the eastern coast of Anglesey, a small site with 2 equally well equipped shepherd huts and 2 cabins.

Whether you prefer to reconnect with nature on countryside and coastal walks or seek lively visitor attractions like Zip World, it’s a great location to choose for your North Wales break and an area I love.

Personal favourites include visiting the megalithic burial chamber Bryn Celli Ddu (8 minutes away), walking at Newborough Warren (15 minutes away), wild swimming in stunning Llyn Padarn, (less than 30 minutes away) and visiting stunning Aber Falls (35 minutes away). No matter how many times I visit the region, it always lures me back.

I booked a weekend away which was initially going to be a solo trip, but I ended up taking my grown-up daughter along with me, and in terms of relaxation and rebalancing ourselves, it did exactly that.

The verdict

I think I’ve found somewhere I’ll happily return to again and again, as the accommodation is so comfortable and offers such excellent value for money.

The cabin itself is gorgeous, warm and cosy with fabulous bedding and fluffy blanket. It provides plenty of storage, great outside space and it’s extremely well equipped; ideal for a couple or a family of 4 with older children capable of safely using the ladder stairs to get in and out of the loft area.

It makes the perfect base to explore some of the best of what Anglesey and North Wales has to offer and I can’t wait to make another booking and go back again.

The best bits

  • Extremely well equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need to self-cater
  • Super cosy and comfortable cabin, the double bed was particularly comfy and I slept wonderfully well on it
  • A large and spacious bathroom including a great shower and a bath
  • We loved the thoughtful touches and vibe of the cabin, from the artwork to handmade soap in the bathroom
  • There’s a compelling little book collection and some lovely artwork
  • We loved being so close to the horses and alpacas and we loved the countryside views
  • Great lighting (I really hate harsh lights!)
  • The location, although rural, it is in walking distance of the coast, Anglesey sea zoo and a couple of little cafes
  • A lovely, welcoming owner
  • Excellent value for money
