What we thought

This is such a lovely blanket that I’m torn. Do I keep it in with my camping gear? In the back of my car ready for snuggling under after winter wild swims? Or do I pop it over the arm of the sofa and use it at every opportunity I get?

Wrapped up in my blanket after a November swim in Snowdonia

Of course, a blanket is a must-have item for camping, whether you use it as an extra layer of warmth over your sleeping bag or to wrap around your shoulders whilst you’re sat beside the campfire, but over the last few months, I’ve found I use this blanket way more than I ever imagined I would, and it really is far to nice to keep for camping use only.

As far as I’m concerned, a great blanket needs to be more than just warm and cosy, it needs to be a good size and it needs to look the part too. I love the pattern and colours on this one which just happens to match perfectly with my colour scheme at home too and with the colour scheme of the glamping cabin in Wales I recently stayed in too (see pics below).

For van lifers with an Instagram-worthy interior aesthetic, the Artisan blanket definitely won’t look out of place and makes a great addition to any camping set-up, whether you do it in a camper, caravan or tent.

The blanket brings just enough colour into your life without it being too garish and I love the warm earthy tones and the Aztec-inspired pattern.

Pros

  • Good quality
  • Lovely colours and pattern
  • Very generous size
  • Soft and not at all itchy against the skin
  • Adds warmth without too much bulk, making it easy to pack in your van or for camping trips
  • Versatile and good-looking enough for use at home
  • Handy for keeping in the boot of your car
  • Stylish adjustable blanket straps are available separately

Cons

  • There’s no carry strap included

The verdict

Gandys Teal Artisan Blanket
Pickle the Persian approves

The Gandys Teal Artisan Blanket makes a very welcome addition to my camping setup and looks beautiful used as an extra layer on top of our double camp bed.

During autumn, I’m not exaggerating, I’ve been snuggled under this blanket on the sofa every evening (it gets the seal or approval from Pickle the Persian too).

Whether at home or camping, It’s a really great quality blanket that provides some much-needed warmth and is perfect for snuggling under whether at home or out and about.
