It’s no secret that I have a shoe addiction and there is always room in my life for more. Whilst initially seduced by the colour and on-trend styling of these Sorel fisherman sandals, I fell madly in love once I put them on! Read on for my full review.

Sorel Women’s ONA Streetworks Fisherman Review

I lament the many years of my life that I spent wearing stupidly uncomfortable shoes in the name of vanity and fashion, but thankfully, I no longer have any tolerance for things that make me even vaguely uncomfortable.

I’m a comfort all the way girlie (as you’ll know from my somewhat extra camping set-ups), and I love all things colourful, making these sandals a potential match made in heaven.

That said, I really wasn’t initially sure just how comfortable these sandals would be. They reminded me a little bit of the jelly shoes I wore as a kid, which I remember making squeaky noises, making my feet sweaty and occasionally rubbing. Thankfully, I needn’t have worried.

After being thoroughly seduced by their fisherman style, chunky sole and heel and the cheery bright yellow colour, I put them on and paraded around the house making lots of happy noises, confirming that they fit perfectly (I’m a UK 6 and found that the 6 fits wonderfully) and that they have a cushioned footbed.

Emboldened I headed out the front door and went for a mile-long walk in them for an initial comfort test before trusting them to take me through a full day out on my feet.

I discovered that they were as comfortable when I first put them on as they were after wearing them to walk out and about it and realised that yes, these were sandals I could happily wear all day long.

Straight out of the box, I must say, the do feel like quite a heavy sandal, so if you like really light sandals you may want to look elsewhere. I love chunky footwear though, and during use, they don’t feel at all heavy to wear.

I have a regular width to slightly narrow foot, and these fit me well, so I’d also advise caution if you have wide feet as these sandals probably won’t fit so well for you.

What I love most

The colour and the on-trend fisherman style
Superb cushioning
The straps don’t cling or make your feet sweaty
The chunky high-traction rubber sole which gives great grip and stability
Being able to wear them all day long in comfort

My only real gripe is that in the US, these sandals were available in a most beautiful bright pink colour which I’d have loved to have the option of here in the UK, particularly seeing as half of my wardrobe is pink.

If you love chunky sandals and want something that is versatile enough to dress up or down, that’s also super comfortable, you won’t be disappointed with the Sorel Ona Streetworks Fisherman Sandals!
