Jake & Nayns Naansters

Jake & NaynsNaansters are a great idea and provide a handy alternative to things like sausage rolls or pastries that you might otherwise eat on the go.

The brand is all about authentic street food flavours and I’ve got to say having tried them, they certainly deliver on the flavour front!

Naansters can be eaten cold, making them ideal for walking, camping and whenever you need food on the go. Now, I love curry and make a lot of curries from scratch at home, but whilst I’m a curry fan, I’m really not keen of the thought of cold curry, and don’t touch things like sausage rolls or pasties so honestly, this really isn’t the usual sort of food that I’d choose.

When I gave them a try I opted for the Chicken Tikka filled Naan first, followed by the Beef Madras (not on the same day I should add, they are very filling!) and because I don’t like microwaved food, I chose to pop mine in the oven for a few minutes to heat up instead which also meant the naan crisped up a little too.

It was tasty, filling and really big on flavour so whilst this isn’t the sort of thing I’d usually choose to eat when camping (you’d have to eat it cold when camping due to them requiring a microwave), I found them surprisingly tasty and I would imagine it would make a good substitute for a pie, pasty or sausage roll when out and about, and even for work lunches or as a post-pub snack they could be a great option and well worth a try!

Jake and NaynsNaansters range is available from Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Spar, Londis, Costco and forecourts across the country. RRP £2.00.
