When it comes to glamping, a tent carpet or rugs might not be the first thing on your mind, but boy can it make a difference to the camping experience. Covering the floor in your tent means you’ll benefit from an extra layer of insulation; no standing on cold ground, and an extra barrier between you and the ground when you are lying in bed.

As well as making your tent that bit cosier, a fitted tent carpet makes your tent look nicer too. When it comes to bell tents though, unless you have something custom made, or choose coir matting (pricey and bulky), the only option until now has been to use a variety of different rugs to cover the floor. Whilst this can look charming, and is what we’ve done in the past, setting up our bell tent using these new moon shaped rag rugs from Bell Tent Boutique, really transformed our tent.

If you have your own glamping set-up, like we do, you’ll definitely need to factor in the extra space you’ll need to transport the rugs. Bear in mind though, we have an enormous 6m bell tent, and with 4m and 5m bell tents being much more common, rugs in those sizes will be significantly less bulky than ours!

Due to space restrictions, we sadly aren’t going to be able to use both rugs on every camping trip we take, as on longer trips our car is usually packed to the gunnels, but we’ll definitely be taking at least one whenever we camp with our bell tent, to create a cosy bedroom area in the rear of the tent.

If you’re a glamping site owner and are looking for an alternative to coir matting, then of course transportation won’t be an issue as they’ll go down for the season and stay in place; in which case we think these rugs are perfect.
