NEWS | Introducing UNIT 1 – Smart Helmets and Lights Where Style and Safety Ride Side by Side
We all know that helmets and lights are essential for safe cycling, but these products from UNIT 1 takes things to the next level. Their AURA helmet does more than just look good, it blends sleek design and certified ebike safety including MIPS (increasing impact protection) with integrated brake and indicator lights that boost visibility from all angles.
AURA also features an inbuilt crash alert system that will let your desired contact know if you’ve taken a spill. Fancy a fresh look? Magnetic visors and brim options let you switch up your style in seconds.
See & be seen every ride
Lights positioned high up on the front and back of the AURA helmet enhance your visibility on the road, and when paired with the handlebar mounted remote, you can signal your intentions to turn left or right, just like when driving. The remote is wirelessly linked to the helmet and features built-in sensors that activate the brake lights on the back when you slow down.
Also available from UNIT 1 are bike mounted ‘Smart Lights’. These feature clever magnetic attachments that not only make it a breeze to take them on and off your bike but also keep them secure in a handy case that keeps them charged and ready to ride – just like airpods.
They really are smart, no need to worry which light is which, just place one on the front or rear of the bike they will change colour depending on where they are placed – red on the back and white for the front light.
A connected ecosystem
The AURA helmet works hand in hand with the Smart Lights and UNIT 1 app. Use the app to customise your setup, change modes, manage battery life and synchronise all of your UNIT 1 products, enabling you to shift between setups seamlessly.
A crash alert system means if you’re involved in an accident, the helmet checks in via the app before sending an SOS message and your location to a nominated contact.
Meet SPARKY, the smart helmet for kids
Launching this month, SPARKY makes safety fun. With an animated rear light that kids can choose the colour and mode for. Paired with fun interchangeable silicone inserts, including dinosaur spikes and lightning bolts. It offers the chance for kids to express themselves, creating excitement to wear a helmet and get outside. Recommended for ages 3–9, SPARKY grows as the kids do, with an adjustable fit system. It also includes emergency info storage via a built-in safety ID chip (plus an optional AirTag slot).
