As we head into August, Decathlon, the world’s largest sports retailer, has announced the launch of Tent Rentals, an extension of its existing Rentals service for sports gear which will allow customers to rent a tent for as little as £10 for 3 days.
Research showed that more than half of Brits were planning a staycation for this year despite travel opening up, and with camping offering an affordable alternative to holiday parks and hotels, plenty of us are packing up the parasols and heading to the great outdoors.
With eleven tents to choose from, including pop-up and inflatable models for easy pitching, camping newbies needn’t worry about a thing as everything needed to pitch and put-down a tent is included plus tents can be simply ordered online for next day home delivery. Plus, renting a tent is a great way to reduce consumption as tents won’t sit gathering dust.
Included in the service is a 4 person, 2 bedroom inflatable model with two separate bedrooms and a living room providing ample space for a family of four. Plus it boasts a zip-in ground sheet, waterproof and wind-resistant material and blackout technology to keep the two bedrooms cool and dark for a sound night’s sleep.
Ideal for festival campers, the 3-person pop-up blackout tent is easily and quickly pitched, giving customers more time to do what they love without compromising on a much-needed night’s sleep.
For experienced explorers, Decathlon’s trekking models are also available to rent. Lightweight and designed to withstand winds of up to 70 Km/H, four different trekking tents can be hired from just £25 for 3 days.
As the first major retailer to launch sports rentals across all of its UK stores earlier this year, Decathlon has expanded to offer a wide range of high-quality tents to ensure that cost isn’t a barrier to enjoying the outdoors and trying out new activities as well as reducing purchase of tents and sports goods which go on to sit unused.
Speaking about the launch of tent rentals, Chris Allen, Sustainability Leader at Decathlon comments: “Following the success of our sports Rentals in March this year the natural next step was to launch tent Rentals this summer to provide would-be campers with a low cost, easy and sustainable way to get outdoors and give camping a go. The Rentals range has launched to allow more people to enjoy camping trips without breaking the bank, and Decathlon are proud to be able to further the accessibility of outdoor activities. Rentals include a variety of tents, backpacks and sleeping bags to ensure everyone is a happy camper from as little as £10 for 3 days”.
Products from bikes and kayaks for weekend getaways, to stand-up paddle boards and tennis rackets for family playtime, can all be rented via the service. Paddleboards and kayaks can be hired for £30 a day whilst tennis rackets are £10, with all rentals being 50 percent off on the second day.
