The verdict

The Tog24 Men’s Brook Milatex Jacket is classed as a lightweight jacket, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it won’t keep you warm.

The Jacket is lightweight, comfortable and having worn it for many months and out on several walks, it’s been brilliant. The fit of the jacket means there is plenty of room to wear a couple of layers underneath it, without it being baggy and I really love the way it looks.

My usual cold weather walking attire consists of a base layer under a thin fitted fleece, with a jacket on top. With this Jacket I have been warm enough to take off my fleece layer, even when out walking on chilly Autumn days.

I’m a little obsessed with pockets on Jackets, and this jacket has plenty, all of them useful and in sensible places. For instance the “hip” pockets sit below the waist strap on my rucksack, meaning they remain easily accessible while carrying a rucksack.

The roll-away hood isn’t like most similar hoods on other jackets that I’ve come across, this one looks like a fixed part of the jacket, as opposed to others that are very thin. Once it’s rolled away, it doesn’t look bulky or clumsy around the collar either.

I’m really impressed with this Jacket and having worn it for a good few months now, it’s kept me warm and dry every time. It’s smart enough to wear as a regular Jacket, but it’s also robust enough to wear when out walking. It’s simply brilliant and is now a firm favourite of mine. It’s well worth the price and is an excellent buy.
