About Fell End Woodland Retreats

In March of this year, we stayed at Fell End Holiday Park in glamping pods and had a fabulous time, so when we found out about their new Forest Retreat Super Pods and were invited back, we literally jumped at the chance. Read on to find out what we thought.

Fell End Woodland Retreat Super Camping Pod

Fell End Super Pods in the Lake District

The best way to describe the Super Pods is like a luxury hotel room, transported slap bang into the middle of woodland. Their design allows you to feel close to nature, but gives you all the comforts of staying in a hotel.

The Woodland Retreats sleep 2 adults and have a double fold down bed and a sofa. There is also a kitchen complete with a cooker, sink, fridge and microwave and an ensuite bathroom with flushing toilet, shower, basin and even a heated towel rail. Fancy eh?

Our verdict

Fell End is a lovely little holiday park in a superb location, at the southern end of the Lake District. We’ve visited before and stayed in their regular camping pods so we already liked the facilities and friendly staff, but the Super Pods (Woodland Retreats) are truly something else.

Kitchen at Fell End

The use of space inside is quite incredible and despite their diminutive size, they are plenty big enough for a couple to live in comfortably for a few days; and once again, we found ourselves wishing we were staying for longer. Fold the bed down for the night and two little bedside nooks, complete with reading light are revealed; demonstrating the clever storage that is built in all over the pod.

The verdict

The Super Pod was warm and delightfully cosy thanks to the heater that works incredibly quickly to warm up the space. We cooked meals in the Super Pod on both evenings we were there, and found it to be extremely well equipped with everything we needed.

Whilst it would have been nice to have gym access included in the cost of a stay, it was hard to find fault. We regard the Fell End Woodland Retreat Super Pods, as stylish woodland dens for grown-ups, and think they’re utterly brilliant; perfect for when you want a relaxing weekend, but don’t want the bustle of a city break or the effort of getting the camping gear out.

We love this!
