Who are Sherpa Adventure Wear?

Paying homage to the unsung Sherpa heroes of Everest, Sherpa Adventure Wear make clothes for men and women, that are tough enough to work in extreme conditions; that means seriously cold, and at seriously high altitude.

The brand gives back to the community by providing scholarships to underprivileged Sherpa children. A proportion of every single sale is given to the The Paldorje Education Foundation, which means by choosing the Sherpa brand, you are contributing to the wellbeing of a Nepalise family. Our Verdict

I admire the vision and the commitment, and did feel that when wearing the gorgeous Sherpa gear I was sent to review, that I ought to do something a little more hardcore than a casual Cumbrian fell walk! Admiration aside, what did I think of the gear?

I love natural materials and I’m a sucker for bright colours so the range went down well from that respect. Worn on a cold Autumn weekend, we spent one full day outdoors walking, and I was kept very warm and snug, in fact so warm, that I needed to take off the hat for a little while towards the end of the walk.

The gloves, leg warmers and hat are made from 100% lambs wool, and have a snuggly fleece lining which stops them from being itchy, and makes them super warm. They are perfect for when it’s really cold and ideal if you are heading off to the mountains. I loved them and didn’t want to give them back, so I have popped a pair of the wrist warmers onto my Christmas wish list. Here’s hoping Mr. CWS gets the rather large hint.
