For around 8 years they have been conducting research and development using a kit of parts that can be constructed in a variety of flexible configurations to create temporary structures.

The pilot Pod(o), currently made from around 75% recycled plastics, mainly single use plastics like water bottles, and can be used as temporary accommodation, ideal for festivals, quirky glamping sites or they can be used in crisis situations whenever temporary housing is needed.  The first prototype was debuted at The Showman’s Show in October 2018 and moving forward Above All C6(n) are looking to move into 100% recycled manufacturing.

The modular pod consists of six, separate shell parts which will also incorporate solar power, an eco-water supply and bio toilet. The Pod can be wrapped in any design, can feature advertising and will also be extendable, stackable and also flat packable for easy transportation.

Charlie Hall, Founder and MD of Above All C6(n), said: “We need to change how we think of buildings – how they are made and what they are capable of becoming, and MESR TECNIC (Modular, Extensible, Scalable and Reusable) architecture holds the key to this.

The ground breaking company, whose structures have been used by Moet Hennessy at events throughout this summer, won the Most Innovative Solution for Temporary Structures award at the Major Events Summit 2018 in Liverpool in June.

Charlie continued: “The Pod provides an instant, reusable accommodation solution.

“It’s warm, comfortable and lockable. And while we are currently piloting the two-person unit, they will ultimately be extendable and stackable with the potential to create entire ‘villages’.”

“But what makes it especially appealing is the fact that it provides a permanent use for single use plastic.”

Come early 2019, Above All C6(n) are developing a specialised bespoke modular living space for a client that will provide an alternative holistic solution to the outdoor accommodation market.
