We usually opt for a mish mash of different coloured and sizes of rag rugs in our tent, which look nice, but can take up a fair bit of space to transport. They also slide around on top of the ground sheet and are easy to trip over.

The half moon rug from Life Under Canvas is soft underfoot and is super practical too as it can be easily wiped clean of any muck or spills. We opted to use ours as shown, in the far side of our 4m bell which was our sleeping area and it was a really good fit, helping to insulate the ground below our SIM and really enhancing the look of our tent.

The rug rolls up to a decent size and so don’t take up too much room in the car to transport and are also nice and light to carry too and we love the funky design and the fact they are recycled.

Eco Absorbent Door Mat Life Under Canvas

Eco Absorbent Door Mats From £99

Features

  • Ultra Absorbent – traps up to 95% of dust, dirt and mud
  • Eco friendly – contains recycled content and is 100% recyclable
  • Available in citrus green or mid grey – stylish colour and design
  • Lightweight – easy to roll and carry
  • Easy to clean – can be machine washed at 30 degrees C
  • 170 x 100cm – Fits the 3m and 4m bell tent doors perfectly
  • 220 x 100cm – Fits the 5m and 6m bell tent doors perfectly

At the front of our tent we opted to use the Eco absorbent door mat, made exclusively for Life Under Canvas. These door mats are made from recycled materials right here in the UK and are fully recyclable too.

They are lovely and soft and are super absorbent (I know, having knocked over a glass of gin), making them ideal for placing in the doorway of your tent. The size is super generous and they have a rubberised anti slip backing, so they don’t slide around on top of your ground sheet.

Although thicker and heavier and a rectangle shape rather than half moon, we found it fitted well inside our 4m bell and in bad weather, it will definitely come into its own as traipsing into a tent with wet or muddy shoes can leave the ground sheet in a real mess.

We were amazed by the quality of this door mat and for cold weather camping we think it will be fantastic at insulating the tent from the ground, In fact I’ll definitely be using mine to carpet my smaller tent when I do solo camping trips in colder weather! They would also be amazing for use at home. I have a tiny hallway at home, but if you have a long hallway, this would work brilliantly to protect your carpet or wooden floors.

Where to buy

The above featured 100% Recycled Half Moon Bell Tent Rugs retail from £50 & the Eco Absorbent Door Mats retail from £90 and both are available from Life Under Canvas
